For installation, Thuraya’s compact onboard satellite data unit (SDU) is simply connected to a hub, Wi-Fi transceiver or an onboard server. The antenna is then fixed to the aircraft tail or atop the fuselage. The system is significantly smaller and lighter than its market competition, offers high performance at lower airtime costs, and packs in a simple interface for the easy onboarding of multiple sensors and peripherals.
